Morning sickness? Back aches? Sudden bursts of energy? They say that the type of symptoms you have when you’re pregnant can determine whether you’re having a boy or girl. Much of the time, the information is fairly accurate. One of my favorite things about being an Augusta, GA newborn photographer is getting to hear these personal stories. I love finding out if the rumors are true! So, let’s try to help you try and figure out if you’re having a baby boy or a baby girl!

Signs You’re Having a Baby Boy

Baby boys are adorable, and I have heard all of the stories about how mamas just knew they were having a boy! These are some of the most common signs to watch out for!

• You don’t have morning sickness in the first trimester: Congrats!

• A lot of your pregnancy cravings are for salty foods or proteins

• You experience dry skin

• Your hair is suddenly shiny and full of body: I’m jealous!

• You lay on your left side

• You get headaches more often

• Your body hair is growing faster

• You carry low throughout your pregnancy

These are just a few of the most common signs you’re having a boy. However, there are some pretty unique ones:

• Your pupils dilate after looking at yourself in the mirror for one minute

• If you tie a wedding ring to a string, hold it over your tummy, and it naturally moves in a straight line, you’re having a boy!

• If someone asks you to show them your hands and you hold them out palms down, boy!

Signs You’re Having a Baby Girl

Baby girls are so fun to photograph as an Augusta, GA newborn photographer! Their cute little dresses and bows, adorable! There are a bunch of tell-tale signs that you’re likely having a girl!

• You’re carrying high in the belly

• You experience significant morning sickness at least in the first trimester

• Baby girls come with more frequent mood swings

• One breast is bigger than the other

• You crave everything sweet and sugary

• Your urine is a dull yellow color

• You have more energy

• You have dull skin and increased acne

Okay now onto some of the weird signs:

• You manage to remain graceful throughout pregnancy (how you’re supposed to do that with morning sickness I have no idea, but power to you!)

• If your baby’s heartbeat sounds like a galloping horse, it’s likely a girl!

• Try the ring test again! If the ring moves in clear circles, time to buy some dresses!
