My approach to newborn photography is very natural, simple, and meant to capture the connection between your family and new baby! During your session I will capture a mix of simple poses and candid photography.

Every session is baby-led. This means that every newborn photography session is different. If I arrive to your home and baby is awake then we will start with some awake shots. If baby is hungry, then that’s our queue to feed baby. Typically once baby has been fed and they are wrapped, they tend to fall asleep. I love capturing a mix of lifestyle photography and simple posed portraits. I incorporate poses you’d find in the studio but putting my own style into the newborn photography session. I love utilizing client’s homes and making their space into the perfect location for baby’s portraits.

I feel honored to create breast-feeding portraits. I love when clients ask to have me capture this beautiful moment. It allows us to freeze time and really capture this genuine moment with you and your sweet new baby. My main focus is to capture the connection you have with your new baby. If you are debating on having your newborn session either in studio or in-home, let me provide you some pros in having your newborn photography session in-home. So the biggest thing is that you will be in the comfort of your own home, you have everything you need for your baby. No traveling is necessary, which means you don’t have to pack all the baby items. The last thing you would want is to forget something and have to drive back home to get it. Another reason would be that your gallery would be completely unique. No other gallery will look alike, which I believe is that much more special. Another pro, you can include the whole family including siblings and pets. Everyone can be included and that is a great time to get some family portraits of everyone as well. My main focus is make sure everyone is comfortable and having a pleasant time.

Babies determine the flow of the session. I can never go into a session with the expectation that baby will be asleep. So don’t worry about getting those sleepy shots. I’m here to help, and we just follow your baby’s needs and go from there. Some of my favorite items I bring to help make baby feel comfortable and happy are stretchy wraps, my shusher , and my motherly instincts.
