Northern Virginia Baby Boy Nursery Reveal | Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer
I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant right now writing this but when you get to see it I’ll be officially in labor! Yay! For little man’s nursery I’ve had a lot a time on my hands being quarantined and all. But the one thing that has really settled my nerves during all this has been decorating and organizing the nursery.
This will be my 2nd pregnancy and so far there has been many differences. For example, I was WAY MORE nauseous this time around, which originally I was thinking we were having a girl. But NOPE another boy to my family! Also have been craving a lot of watermelon this time around, but with Michael I was craving spicy food. Its crazy how different each pregnancy is, which hopefully makes me think my delivery will be different as well. Here’s hoping I don’t get preeclampsia again!
Up until March 2020 little man’s nursery was my home office. I’ve obviously have had to make some changes to where my desk will go and all my photography gear but thankfully our home provides storage. I just had to be very creative of how I store things lol and where.
Baby Boy Nursery Inspiration
So I’m not sure what sparked my interest in the woodland theme nursery but my husband has a love for nature and I love animals so combing those two really made this nursery. We had some nursery furniture from when Michael was a baby that I kept because we knew we wanted to have more kids. The rocking chair, changing table and crib were all Michaels when he was a baby. The dresser and book shelf were lucky finds I found on facebook market for a steal! They both are made of real wood but they were stained to a really orange color that I was not a fan of. I found my idea to paint the dresser on pintrest, and added my own kind of flare to it. It really came out amazing and definitely brings a lot of character to the room.
MAKING BABY BOYS NURSERY PERSONAL
So it was really important to me to add special touches to his nursery. I think a lot of us go on Pinterest and think we need to have ALL BRAND NEW items to make the nursery special, but in fact its those sentimental pieces that make YOUR nursery special. For me, my first sentimental item was of course my ultrasound! A lot of times we get these scans from our OBGYN office and either put the image on the fridge or put them in a box for safe keeping. I really wanted to go above and beyond that and frame it, because displaying your images is the best way to be able to cherish these memories, I get to see little man every day and be thankful. It brings happy memories to me and I honestly have been loving it in is room.
Going with the woodland theme for the nursery I used most items we had previously with Michael to add some character to his nursery. I did purchase this decorative bear basket which I thought was perfect touch to his nursery! You can find that here. Woodland theme changing pad I got here as well.
Choosing his name
Wyatt James Brenner
Wyatt is a English origin meaning "brave in war". We actually agreed on his name this time around, with our oldest we had a tough time narrowing down the perfect name. We wanted something different and unique but nothing too crazy. We are a firm believer in giving our sons strong names and in hopes that when they grow up they continue to be strong and courageous men.
The middle name is actually more sentimental then the first name. We decided to honor my husbands brother, who served our country and is no longer with us. Although he’s not here today we know that he’s with us, and we want to recognize him for all he has done for this country. With that said, we hope that one day we can tell his story to Wyatt and Michael.
The name board we ordered from etsy which I am in LOVE with and you can find it here. I hope you all LOVE the nursery as much as I do. We definitely put in a lot of work to make it special and hope you all appreciate it. Don’t forget to follow up along with me on instagram for more about our journey from 3 to 4!
