Popular Questions I Get From New Moms About Their In Home Newborn Photoshoot

An in home, newborn photography session in Atlanta, Georgia is an exciting event, but it also comes with a lot of unknowns. This is especially so for new mamas who have never invited a photographer into their home. It can be a little nerve-wracking for some moms and that’s what I’m here for. I wanted to dedicate an article to answering your burning questions regarding what happens during a shoot, how long sessions last, what safety trainings I have, and more! Let’s get into it!

Q: How long do in home newborn photography sessions in Atlanta, Georgia last?

This heavily depends on the individual session itself mamas! I would say on average, a typical session will last around 2 hours. However, this could vary for a few reasons. If your newborn is feeling a little fussy that day or needs some extra feeding, that would prolong the shoot.

Additionally, if you’re incorporating family members into the photos, getting everyone ready and posed can take time. When I’m there though, I’m there for you! You are under no rush or obligation to hurry it along. I want these photos to be everything you imagine and if that’s take several hours, that’s fine!

Q: Do you have any safety trainings under your belt?

I know that as a mom, your first priority is the health and safety of your newborn. So, I of course have safety trainings and handling trainings under my belt! I have taken hands-on training courses that provided me with the knowledge and techniques for posing newborns safely. I am also trained on a baby’s circulation system, ensuring that every pose is comfortable, and your newborn doesn’t feel restricted, uncomfortable, or disturbed.

Q: Do you provide any props or accessories for the in-home newborn photograph session in Atlanta, Georgia?

I absolutely do! I come ready with props, wraps, outfit changes, and even accessories! You of course are not required to use any of them, but I like to provide the option to my clients. Additionally, if you have your own sentimental clothing or accessories, you are more than welcome to bring them out. I’ll gladly incorporate them into the photoshoot!

Q: Is your newborn photography business insured?

Not many parents realize this but hiring a photographer who is insured is critical. On the off chance that something does happen during the photoshoot, my insurance can ensure you are covered. I am also an LLC and a fully legal business, so I pay taxes that go right back to the community!

Q: Do you conduct any COVID-19/cleaning and safety procedures during the newborn photography session in Atlanta, Georgia?

With the virus still abound and newborns being particularly sensitive to infections and diseases, I have always placed an emphasis on cleaning practices before and during my photoshoots. Even prior to COVID-19, cleaning procedures were in place and will continue to be in place well into the future!

During our session I do wear a mask. Additionally, I will sanitize myself and my equipment before our session. Throughout our session, I will also wash my hands to minimize any risk of harm to your and your family.

I hope this mini-Q&A has helped put you at ease a bit! I never want you to feel rushed, stressed, or anxious about things you shouldn’t. Our session is all about peace, ease, and joy and whatever I have to do to ensure you feel that way, is what I will do!
