With every client I always set up a time to meet with them. With covid these days I’ve made it my mission to keep not only my clients safe but my family as well. I’ve been loving meeting my clients on zoom and I’m so glad I got to meet Jessica. I loved discussing details on what she’s looking for. The National Arboretum is close to Jessica’s and Doug’s home which for a pregnant mama that’s heading into her third trimester is so convenient.

Sweet In-Home Newborn Photography Session in Northern Virginia

Hello and welcome, I'm Stacey voted The Best Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. professional newborn photographer. I’m so grateful you're here. As a professional newborn photographer, I provide portraits that are completely unique to every families needs. I strive to provide one of a kind baby portraits for expecting parents. I feel a baby is most comfortable in their own home where you have everything you need. I have experience working in homes with ideal and not so ideal lighting. All I need is a room that has a window that brings in natural lighting and I can make some magic.

It’s super important to me that I get to meet each client. This allows us to get to know one another, but also we get to discuss all the details that go into a newborn session. One of the main things discussed is the space. I recommend doing the session in the rooms that have the best natural light. So typically that can include the master bedroom, nursery, spare room, and living room. I have clients focus on those “ideal spaces” and declutter. My goal is to focus capturing the family and your newborn baby. Decluttering helps any distractions in your newborn portraits.

During the session I captured a mix of simple newborn poses and candid shots. Focusing on Sunny’s needs and really letting him guide the session. Sunny was a little hungry still, so we let him guide the session and we took a break so mom could feed sweet sunny. Once he was fully fed, I swaddled him using one of my wraps that I provide and let him rest before I started to pose him. In order for me to safely and successfully pose any baby they need to be in a deep sleep. Swaddling and feeding baby is the best way to keep them happy. Sunny slept through the whole session which allowed me to capture some sweet sleepy and adorable portraits.

I love the idea of including family pets, but this also determines how the pets are. Oreo was so curious and wanted to be part of every step of the session which I loved! Your fur pets are family and should be included as well! I’m already missing Oreo’s kisses!
